Here we will give you a perfect defining of beauty!

A lot of HCG dieters ask about taking HCG drops during menstruation, and are confused why it is recommended to stop eating HCG drops for weight loss during menstruation. So I decided to cover that topic. Let me first say that Dr. Simeons, the inventor of the HCG diet, recommended stopping taking HCG during period, but continuing with the 500 calorie diet at the same time. He did so in his book Pounds And Inches: A New Approach To Obesity. However, he didn’t explain why. So I want to share my view, why HCG should not be taken during menstruation, and what are the risks of sticking to them during that time.

HCG is produced during menstruation by the body itself, so taking extra HCG is unnecessary, and can be even harmful. What it can do is, it can increase your menstrual cycle by a certain number of days, usually not more than 6 or 7. This would not be a problem at all, at the end of the day, who cares how often menstruation occurs? I do not. Maybe some women would even welcome this increase.

Impact Of HCG During Menstruation
But that is not the only thing extra HCG causes during period. It can also make your flow heavier than normal. At least it is said to do so if you are taking the injections. With HCG homeopathic drops, however, heavier flow is not quite as common as with the injections. That’s mainly due to the fact that much less HCG is contained in homeopathic drops than in the injected form. Those trace amounts, when taken orally, help your body produce HCG per se, but this is another topic that would need its own article.

As I said, the very low calorie diet should not be stopped during menstruation, no matter if you feel hungry or not. In fact you probably will feel a little bit more hungry than before. You should also keep an eye on how your flow changes throughout the period. On light flow days, be persistent with the diet, eat exactly 500 calories a day, you will probably feel somewhat more hungry, because you won’t be taking HCG drops for weight loss as normal. If your flow changes and becomes heavier, don’t panic yet. If this persists for three consecutive days, then I would add some foods into the diet. No junk foods, and no foods with a lot of carbs, either. Foods with starch should also be avoided.

What I advised in the previous paragraph only applies if you are taking injections. With HCG drops, you may want to try for yourself. I mean, every woman is different, some will have no problem taking HCG drops during their period, some might have some. When I was on the diet, I stopped injections during my period. However, when on another round, that was when I was taking HCG drops instead, I tried and didn’t stop my daily doses during menstruation. I can tell you that the course of menstruation went normally for me. I didn’t even observe any increase of my menstrual cycle on the HCG diet, but like I said, you might want to try for yourself.

So the bottom line of this rather short post is, if you are taking HCG via injections, I advise you to stop doing so during menstruation. If you are taking homeopathic HCG, you won’t make a mistake if you stop it during that time, however, it would be also advisable to try for yourself to see whether or not HCG drops for weight loss cause any abnormal changes during your menstruation.
